There were many branch's and directions in his life. Music, radio, television, writing and a collector of the ordinary/common/everyday folk and their stories. Above all he heard. He heard the meaning, the importance and the significance of individuals lives. I grew up listening to Studs on radio. Continued learning reading his books. Studs Terkel's book - Working - has not only made a deep impression on my life, it has influenced what and how I make/take photographs. As with Studs Terkel, I am not interested in the stars, rather I am concerned with the people that live and work within my environment. Studs Terkel is dead, but I am thankful that he lived.
