Monday (On Tuesday) Morning Coffee: Go West

Go West Young Man, Go West

Up early Sunday, quick breakfast, filled the travel mug with coffee and got in the car.  Today we travel and photograph!

Now Richmond is in East Central Indiana and within a few miles of the Ohio boarder.  Today's destination is West Central Indiana, the opposite side of the state.  Using a "blue highway", this will be a rather long slow enjoyable journey to Attica, Indiana.

Attica is a city in Fountain County, near the Illinois boarder, with a population of less than 3300. Arriving, set out walking to get a sense of the community.

First stop, Hotel Attica -

Turns out that Hotel Attica is a local landmark with an intriguing history.  Built in 1853, it was originally know as the Revere House.  The hotel has entertained numerous guests, including Bette Davis, Bing Crosby and Al Jolson.  Legend has it that Al Capone and his "friends" occasionally dropped in.

Enough for now. More in the coming days from the 350 mile journey to West Central  Indiana.
